Huawei Technologies executive Meng Wanzhou has reached a deal with US prosecutors that will allow her to return to China, according to people familiar with the situation. She will virtually attend a US federal court hearing in New York on September 24, 2021.
Meng, who has been detained in Vancouver for nearly three years, was arrested at the Canadian city’s international airport in December 2018 on a US warrant and was indicted on bank and wire fraud charges for allegedly misleading HSBC about Huawei’s business dealings in Iran.
