Thousands flee as Taliban surges in Afghanistan

Thousands of families in Afghanistan are fleeing their homes as the Taliban advances across the country. The insurgents’ territorial gains came after the recent withdrawal of US troops. The United Nations warned that Afghanistan is “on the brink of another humanitarian crisis”.
