Tesla CEO Elon Musk visited the Tesla factory in Shanghai, the largest one globally, on June 1, 2023, during his two-day China trip. In an address to hundreds of Tesla employees, Musk said the cars made in its China factory “are not just the most efficient in production but the highest quality.” It was the tech tycoon’s first trip to China in three years.
