Chinese engineers from Huawei, China Mobile build world’s highest 5G base station on Mount Everest

China Mobile and Huawei say their engineers finished building the world’s highest 5G base station on Mount Everest on April 30, 2020, installing the equipment at a base camp at an altitude of 6,500 metres (21,325ft) and providing advanced 5G coverage for most of mountain including its summit.
