Nintendo’s Switch console and ‘Animal Crossing’ game smash sales records amid pandemic

Japanese digital game giant Nintendo sold 21 million of its Switch consoles in the financial year ending in March 2020. The Covid-19 pandemic, which forced people around the world into home isolation, was credited for better than expected sales for the console, and its fastest-selling game title, Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
