Art Basel Hong Kong 2024 opens as city boosts mega-events to draw visitors

Art Basel Hong Kong is returning for its 2024 edition with contributions from 242 of the world’s leading galleries. The March 28-30, 2024, show is being supported by a grant from the city’s Mega Arts and Cultural Events Fund for the second year in a row. It is billed as the flagship event for “Art March”, a series of cultural mega-events organised to draw visitors to the city. With other events, including Art Central, a major Cultural Summit at the city’s M+ Museum and a range of installations along Victoria Harbour, the series is expected to draw as many as 4 million people, according to Deputy Financial Secretary Michael Wong.
