Second chance to earn college degree offered to Hong Kong’s Filipino domestic helpers

An NGO established in Hong Kong aims to give Filipino domestic workers a chance to obtain a bachelor’s degree through an accelerated education programme offered by the Philippine government. On Sundays, Hong Kong’s streets are filled with the sights and sounds of domestic helpers enjoying their days off. But many share stories of giving up dreams of earning a college education because they needed to support their families by finding jobs abroad as soon as possible.
