Hong Kong customs have seized HK$84 million (US$10.7 million) worth of gold disguised as machine parts in what authorities said was its largest gold seizure on record. The gold parts, shaped into two motor rotors, a gear and three screw shafts, were hidden in two air compressors from a Japan-bound consignment and were uncovered at Hong Kong’s international airport. The director of a local company has been arrested in connection with the case.
