One day after a rare whale sighting in Hong Kong’s eastern waters, sailing coaches returned to Rocky Harbour in Sai Kung on July 14, 2023, hoping to catch another glimpse of it. The giant mammal, believed to be a Bryde’s whale, was filmed opening its jaws and using its baleen, a filter-feeding system found in its mouth, to feed on the surface of the sea.
