Up to 60,000 travellers allowed each way between Hong Kong and mainland China daily from January 8

Up to 60,000 travellers will be allowed to cross the border each way and daily between Hong Kong and mainland China starting January 8, 2023. Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu announced on January 5 details of the long-awaited border reopening after three years of strict Covid-19 pandemic curbs. All travellers will need to register online and show a negative result from a PCR test taken within 48 hours of departure.
