Video shows flames spewing from US airliner’s engine after take-off from Hong Kong

A United Airlines Boeing 767 scheduled to fly to Guam has returned to Hong Kong International Airport on December 20, 2022, after one of its jet engines was seen spitting out flames soon after take-off. After UA2831 reported an engine problem, 34 fire engines, seven ambulances and seven fire boats were put on standby in anticipation of an emergency landing, according to Fire Services Department officials. A spokesman for the airline confirmed to the Post that the flight from Hong Kong to Guam returned to the airport because of a "mechanical issue" and that there were no passengers on board.
