Hong Kong Police practise Chinese-style ‘goose-step’ march ahead of 25th anniversary handover events

The Hong Kong Police Force will phase out older British-style marches starting from July 1, 2022, when it commemorates the 25th anniversary of the handover of Hong Kong to Chinese rule. Going forward, the city’s police, as well as other disciplined services including Customs and Excise as well as the Fire Services, will march in the Chinese “goose-step” fashion at important events.
