Hong Kong Financial Secretary John Tsang Chun-wah said getting to know new lawmakers is an important issue after the Legislative Council election which has added a number of new faces including some young localists.
The government needs to get to know lawmakers as soon as possible so as to establish a channel that the two sides can work together and have better communication, Tsang said in Hangzhou after the closing session of the G20 summit which was attended by leaders of the world's major economies. Tsang said he met President Xi Jinping at the G20 welcome dinner on Sunday.
