France suspends Shein webstore as retailer opens its first-ever physical shop in Paris

Chinese ultra-fast fashion giant Shein had its webstore suspended in France in a shock move on November 5, 2025. The suspension ordered by the French government coincided with the opening of the retailer’s first-ever bricks-and-mortar shop in Paris. The store launch came amid an outcry over the recent discovery by French authorities that Shein’s online platform had been selling sex dolls that resemble children.
