Doomsday Clock moves closer to midnight, one year into Trump’s term

The “Doomsday Clock”, which is meant to represent how near humanity is to catastrophe, has been advanced four seconds closer to midnight. The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists set up the metaphorical clock at the start of the Cold War and updates it periodically. The announcement comes one year into US President Donald Trump’s second term.
