Cyclone Sitrang lashes Bangladesh, leaving 16 people dead

At least 16 people have died during a powerful cyclone that tore through Bangladesh on October 25, 2022. The storm barreled in from the Bay of Bengal early in the day with winds gusting up to 88kph (55mph), destroying homes, uprooting trees and disrupting road, power and communication links. In the capital Dhaka, the cyclone brought strong winds and heavy rain that flooded streets and caused traffic chaos.
