China mobilises firefighters as Mongolian wildfire spreads towards border

A wildfire originating from Mongolia has swept towards the Chinese border. China has deployed about 3,400 personnel to contain the blaze. Local Mongolian news reports said a vehicle from mobile operator Mobicom caused the blaze on October 8 when it caught fire. The wildfire has raised fresh concerns in China, underscoring the recurring risk of cross-border environmental hazards.
