US military personnel frantically clean red carpet for Xi

A video has gone viral showing the moments before Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan disembarked from their plane upon arriving in the US for a state visit on Wednesday. Members of the US military were seen on their hands and knees cleaning the carpet after it had been rolled onto the airfield tarmac at Joint Base Andrews for Xi and Peng, who were greeted by US President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump.
