Typhoon Dolphin made landfall in China’s eastern province on Sunday, triggering the nation’s highest-level red alert and forcing the evacuation of over 1 million people. Dolphin brought heavy rain and strong winds, lashing infrastructure and homes. In Shitang, a coastal town in Zhejiang province, rescuers have been searching for a nine-year-old boy who was swept away by a giant wave on Friday. Before hitting China, the typhoon also struck Okinawa, Japan, injuring six people and cutting power to more than 50,000 buildings.
