China’s Lunar New Year ‘AI temple fair’ combines tradition with innovation

A shopping centre in the Chinese capital Beijing has blended tradition with innovation by hosting an “AI temple fair” to celebrate the Lunar New Year. From a hyperrealistic cai shen or “god of wealth” and tiny robots playing football to swimming robotic carp, the exhibition showcased some of the country’s latest innovations, many made possible because of advances in artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
