Chinese plane designed to travel twice as fast as Concorde completes test flight

A Chinese company says it has conducted a test flight of a prototype commercial transport plane that can travel at Mach 4 – or twice the speed of a Concorde. Space Transportation, headquartered in Beijing, said on October 27, 2024, that its Yunxing prototype plane completed the test flight the previous day. The company also known as Lingkong Tianxing Technology said it aims to have a full-sized supersonic passenger jet ready by 2027.
