China launches spacecraft carrying country’s third female astronaut

China has successfully launched its Shenzhou-19 spacecraft from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre in the country’s northwest. The launch happened at 4.27am Beijing time on October 30, 2024. The three-person crew includes Wang Haoze, China’s third female astronaut. The spacecraft is bound for the Tiangong space station, where it is set to make an autonomous rendezvous and docking.
