A deadly landslide struck Liangshui village in China’s southwestern Yunnan province on January 22, 2024. Forty-seven people remain missing after the landslide buried over a dozen homes and prompted the evacuation of over 500 individuals. Eight people so far have been confirmed dead, according to state media, with freezing temperatures hampering rescue efforts.
