How a remote railway in the Gobi Desert is driving China’s space missions

In the Gobi Desert in northwestern China, a 271km (168-mile) railway line plays a crucial role transporting spacecraft and other equipment to the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre. While not featured on any official maps, the railway has served the country’s space missions for more than 60 years.
