China’s largest shipment of electric vehicles sets sail from Shanghai port

China sent its largest-ever shipment of so-called new energy vehicles (NEV) on September 13, 2022 from Haitong Port in Shanghai. The country's NEV exports have increased 130 per cent year on year in the first half of 2022, according to statistics released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). Demand in Europe has also skyrocketed in countries like Norway, where nearly two-thirds of all cars sold are NEVs.
