Shanghai Disneyland shut down after visitor tests positive for Covid-19

Health officials dressed in white protective suits issued orders for Shanghai Disneyland and the neighbouring Disneytown to be closed on October 31, 2021, after a recent visitor tested positive for the Covid-19 virus. The shutdown of the theme park complex goes into effect on November 1 and will remain in place until further notice, as Chinese health authorities tackle a new spike in infections. Everyone who was at the park on October 31 was required to take a Covid-19 test before they could leave and were told they must be tested again 24 hours later. Shanghai Disneyland had reopened in May after a four-month coronavirus shutdown.
