China said on September 28, 2021, that President Xi Jinping had spoken to his US counterpart Joe Biden about Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou’s case during a phone call.
Hua Chunying, spokeswoman of the Chinese foreign ministry, said that Xi “made China's position clear” on the issue and asked the US to “properly handle it as soon as possible” during the September 9 call.
