Hollywood star John Cena apologises to China for calling Taiwan a country

Former WWE champion John Cena recorded a video apology in Mandarin to his Chinese fans on May 25, 2021. The actor had described Taiwan as a country during an interview on Taiwanese television promoting a Hollywood film – Beijing regards the self-ruled island as part of its territory. The video apology was uploaded to Cena’s Chinese social media Weibo account.
