China’s Harbin counts down to annual Ice and Snow Festival amid Covid-19 pandemic

Hundreds of workers have been preparing for the annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival in the Chinese province of Heilongjiang. They broke the frozen surface of the Songhua River into ice blocks, then turned them into life-sized castles, pagodas and even a functioning hotpot restaurant. The winter festival is set to kick off on January 5, 2021.
