Chang'e 5 returning to China with lunar rock samples

China’s Chang’e 5 spacecraft lifted off from the moon on December 3, 2020, after a 19-hour operation to collect lunar rock samples. The Chinese lander touched down the moon on December 1. Running on a solar battery, it had only two days to finish its mission. The probe was set to retrieve 2kg (4.4 pounds) of lunar samples.
