DBS Hong Kong CEO says city needs to fully reopen to ‘reactivate it as an international hub’

The Global Financial Leaders’ Investment Summit kicked off publicly on November 2, 2022 in Hong Kong, with the city’s de facto central bank hosting the largest gathering of financial heavyweights the city has seen in nearly three years. Sebastian Paredes, CEO of DBS Hong Kong, said it’s invigorating to see the financial community gather after years of the Covid-19 pandemic, but warned the city won’t fully “reactivate as an international hub” until its restrictions are lifted.
