Bangkok’s Surasak Montri School recently held police-led active shooter drills for students in response to the tragedy at Debsirin Nonthaburi School on August 7, when a 14-year-old gunman killed nine people, including himself. Shortly after the incident, there was a separate shooting involving a former member of parliament that put further pressure on the government to tighten gun laws. As rules become more strict, some firearms dealers have decided to abandon the trade – including one local gun shop that has transformed into a bakery.
