Landslides and floods caused by monsoon rains have killed at least 12 people in the Philippines, where several more remain missing. More than half a million people have been affected across 33 provinces as the rains batter the main island of Luzon, including the nation’s capital, Manila. Local weather authorities say a southwest monsoon has been intensified by two tropical cyclones.
