Around 200 Rohingya refugees are feared dead after they went missing when a boat capsized in the Andaman Sea on its way to Malaysia. Several survivors say they floated for two days before being rescued by a passing ship. The refugee vessel left the southern Bangladeshi port of Teknaf on April 4, 2026, before it sank. UN authorities said heavy winds, rough seas and overcrowding may have played a role in the disaster.
