BTS comeback concert turns Seoul’s protest square into giant stage

Seoul is stepping up security, crowd control and even mobile networks around Gwanghwamun Square, as BTS prepares for its first concert in three years. As many as 260,000 fans are expected to attend the March 21, 2026, show, which is being held the day after the release of its new album Arirang. The concert meanwhile is being staged in an area that witnessed a recent turbulent period in South Korean politics.
