South Korea allows Google to access high-precision map data after years of limits

For years, visitors in South Korea have struggled with Google Maps’ limited route planner. That is now set to change after the government approved Google’s use of high‑precision Korean map data under strict security rules, including blurring sensitive sites, processing data on local servers and requiring Google to fix any map issues on request.
