North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and his daughter Kim Ju-ae attended opening ceremonies for the country’s lavish new mountain resort on December 20, 2025. Analysts believe the new venue in Samjiyon is primarily aimed at attracting foreign tourists, but stays at the resort could also serve as a reward for the country’s workers.
