Malaysian scientists recruit bed bugs into crime scene investigations

Bed bugs are insects that lurk in dark places. For this reason, Malaysian scientists say, they can be used to help solve crimes. A team from the Science University of Malaysia discovered that tropical bed bugs can retain human DNA for up to 45 days after snacking on human prey. They say this can aid in creating a full profile of a criminal offender, including the gender, eye colour, hair and skin colour.
