Bangladesh authorities imposed a curfew after violence broke out at a rally involving the youth-led National Citizen Party (NCP) in the southern town of Gopalganj on July 16, 2025. Local media reported that at least four people were killed and others were injured. Supporters of the country’s ousted leader, Sheikh Hasina, blocked several roads, set fire to a government vehicle and vandalised the NCP’s rally in Poura Park, according to Asia News Network.
