Four people were killed and at least 22 injured after two trains carrying hundreds of passengers collided in Cicalengka, in the Indonesian province of West Java on January 5, 2024. The cause of the accident is not yet known and a rescue team was still working to recover the body of one train crew member killed in the crash. The collision happened between an intracity train, carrying 287 passengers, and a local line with 191 passengers on board. The country’s transport ministry has set up an investigation into the cause of the accident.
