A landslide in the central-west of India killed at least 16 people and trapped hundreds under debris on July 20, 2023. The landslide struck the remote mountain hamlet of Irshalwadi in the middle of the night. Rescuers searched for more than 12 hours in heavy rain and fog, dodging large boulders that continued to tumble down the mountain slope.
