Deadly winter weather across Asia brings record snowfalls, low temperatures and icy winds

Asia is bearing the brunt of a particularly strong cold front, which has reportedly turned deadly in some countries. Afghanistan reported at least 124 people deaths amid its coldest winter in 15 years, further deepening the nation’s humanitarian and economic crisis. Japan reported several deaths that are being investigated to confirm whether they were related to winter storms. Parts of China also experienced record-low temperatures, while domestic and international flights were disrupted by heavy snow in South Korea.
