Yoshihide Suga leaves Japan’s cabinet on last day in office

Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Sugaofficially stepped down as the country’s head of government on October 4, 2021. Former foreign minister Fumio Kishida assumed the post after being elected Japan’s 100th prime minister by winning a majority of votes in both houses of parliament in September.
