Nearly a decade after tsunami, clean-up continues at Japan’s Fukushima nuclear plant

It has been nearly a decade since the 2011 magnitude 9.0 earthquake and resulting tsunami damaged Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, one of the world’s largest nuclear power stations. Clean-up efforts to remove radioactive contamination after the disaster has been underway ever since. But officials admit it will take several decades more to completely decommission the plant.
