Chloé Zhao makes history as first Asian woman to win best director at Golden Globes

Chinese director Chloé Zhao became the first Asian woman to win the best director award at the Golden Globes. The 38-year-old was the second woman ever to win the award, after Barbara Streisand’s 1983 win for Yentl. Zhao’s 2020 film, Nomadland, also won a Golden Globe for best drama film.
