Beijing's deadline for foreign airlines to comply with its demand to explicitly recognise Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau as part of China expired on July 25. It appears most airlines, including major US carriers, have complied with Beijing's demands. In April, China said the airlines would face “severe consequences” if they did not remove references to Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau as independent territories on their websites and in other materials.
