Widely known as the “Godfather of AI“, he is University Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto and Chief Scientific Advisor at the Vector Institute. Formerly a Google vice president, he resigned to speak freely on AI risks. Hinton’s pioneering work on artificial neural networks, deep learning and the backpropagation algorithm revolutionised speech recognition and object classification.
