Federal Court (Malaysia)
The Federal Court is Malaysia’s highest judicial institution and final appellate court, located in the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya. Its primary mission involves hearing appeals from the Court of Appeal and High Courts, determining the validity of laws, and resolving disputes between states or the Federation and states. As a governmental body, it adjudicates civil and criminal cases, interprets the Federal and State Constitutions, and provides advisory opinions on constitutional matters. The Federal Court is significant for upholding the supremacy of the Constitution and became the ultimate court of appeal after the abolition of Privy Council appeals in 1985.
