US-born Gu, won gold in the big air and half-pipe events in Beijing in February 2022, and silver in slopestyle.  The part-time model, who is known as Gu Ailing in China and speaks fluent English and Mandarin, swapped her Team USA colours in favour of representing her mother’s birthplace of China in 2019. At the time she said she wanted to pave the way for China’s next generation of female skiers.
