Established in Beijing in March 2016, Cambricon builds core processor chips and general-purpose graphics processing units (GPUs) for use in the field of artificial intelligence. It has often been compared with Nvidia due to the similar fields they compete in. The company was founded by the brothers Chen Yunji and Chen Tianshi, and went public on the Shanghai stock exchange in July 2020.
